Reganam 3GP Player 2011

The variety of media players we may choose from is huge. Every time we think that we have found the perfect one that could satisfy all our needs and don't need another one, it may happen that the format won't be recognized. 3GP Player may not be the only player to use for everything but, when it comes to accessing a mobile phone video, it knows how to get the job done.

Downloading the 16 Mb kit may be hard on some slower Internet connections, but if it were smaller, would we trust it to be a capable software? The installation is fast, although you will be asked if you want an extra toolbar to your browser, if you want a new homepage and even if you want to install the Babylon 9 translation software. For those who just want a media player for their phone videos, this may be a bit frustrating and you'd better hold the sigh of relief a second or two longer because the installation wizard will also take you to Reganam Interactive (the program's developers) web page. But you might find it pleasing as you don't have to install any additional codecs. An odd thing about the installation wizard is that the text doesn't quite fit in the window. When you need to check on "I agree", you might find it a bit challenging because there's some text over the option.

The player gets straight into business without the need to show some out of the ordinary interface skin. It resembles Window's standard media player. It has toolbar with buttons that you'll use most of the time and a few menus. If you have ever used a media player before, especially Windows Media Player, than you'll feel right at home with this one. Just open a file, click and drag it to the interface or make a play list. Certainly you're familiar with these. Like previously mentioned, it's not so different from other media players, except this one's strong point is that it can run without any problems 3GP and other mobile phone formats like 3G2 or MPEG-4. You can also run your standard formats like AVI, Wmv or many others.

Pros:
3Gp player looks and feels like any other standard player, so you will have no trouble adjusting to it. However, it does have a trick or two regarding the various file formats it can read. Most important, it's free.

Cons:
There's nothing really wrong with this software. Everything falls in place quite nice.
